Laminated Glass Cutting Machine
Laminated glass cutting machines are used to edge or split laminated glass that has already been laminated and formed. For instance, when a large piece of finished laminated glass needs to be divided into smaller pieces or when the edges need to be trimmed. This places very high demands on the cutting equipment.
1.Technical Challenges: The interlayer film (PVB/EVA) in laminated glass is characterized by its toughness, elasticity, and adhesiveness. Traditional glass cutting wheels cannot effectively and neatly cut the interlayer film, which may lead to uneven edges, film fraying, and delamination.
2. Equipment Introduction:
- Working Principle: The equipment is equipped with two or more sets of cutting heads that are aligned and move synchronously. The upper cutting wheel cuts the upper layer of glass, while the lower cutting wheel cuts the lower layer. The interlayer film is severed through the squeezing and shearing action of the upper and lower cutting wheels.
- Core Features:
- Synchronous Drive System: Ensures that the movement trajectories of the upper and lower cutting wheels are exactly the same, which is a key technical point.
- Special Cutting Wheels: The angle and pressure of the cutting wheels need to be specially designed and adjusted for laminated glass.
- High Stability: A robust mechanical structure is required to guarantee the absolute synchronization and stability of the upper and lower cutting heads during the cutting process.
- Application Scenarios: Mainly used for straight edge cutting or splitting of finished laminated glass, featuring high processing efficiency and excellent edge quality.
3. Key Technical Points of Laminated Glass Cutting Machine
- Precision is the lifeline: The cutting contours of the two pieces of glass must be highly consistent. Any minor deviation will result in edge defects or stress concentration after lamination.
- Cutting pressure control: The pressure of the cutting wheel on the glass needs to be precisely controlled. If the pressure is too small, the cutting line will be unclear and it will be difficult to break the glass; if the pressure is too large, it is easy to cause chipping on the edge of the glass or hidden cracks in laminated glass.
- Tool selection: Different angles and hardness of specialized cutting wheels should be selected based on the thickness and type of the glass (float glass, ultra-clear glass, tempered glass, etc.).
- Layout optimization software: The efficient numerical control system with built-in optimization software can maximize the utilization rate of the original glass sheets and directly reduce production costs.
